National Prayer Vigil for Life Jan 21, 2007 : National Prayer for Life Vigil Mass at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.  Cardinal Justin Rigali of Philadelphia, Chairman of Committee on Pro-Life Activities, was the Celebrant and Homilist. Pro-Life Ministry Bus Trip  Jan 21, 2007 : Sister Suzanne Gross, F.S.E. lead the Pro-Life Ministry of the Archdiocese of Hartford annual pilgrimage to the March for Life rally in Washington D.C.  Pro-life supporters from around the diocese boarded the buses early on Sunday morning for two days of community prayer, the National Vigil for Life, the Mass for Peace & Justice and the March for Life from the Mall to the steps of the U.S. Supreme Court on the 34th anniversary of Roe v. March for Life Jan 22, 2007 : Members of the Pro-Life Ministry of the Archdiocese of Hartford marched alongside 100,000 other pro-life supporters in the annual March for Life rally in Washington D.C.  Pro-life advocates came from all across the country to pray and remind others of the need to protect human life.  Following a rally on the Mall, the peaceful ("always with kindness") demonstrators walked down 4th Street and up Constitution Avenue to the steps of the U.S. Supreme Court where many said a Hail Mary on the 34th Anniversary of Roe v. National Prayer Vigil for Life Jan 21, 2008 : National Prayer Vigil for Life Solemn Eucharistic Celebration at Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, Washington, D.C.  Principal Celebrant was Cardinal Justin Rigali, Archbishop of Philadelphia and Chariman USCCB Committee for Pro-Life Activities.  Thousands in attendance.

Mass for Peace & Justice Jan 22, 2008 : Mass for Peace and Justice in defense of life held at Washington Plaza Hotel, Washington D.C.  Celebrant and homilist was Archbishop Henry J. Mansell, Archbishop of Hartford, CT.  Breakfast followed along with a stirring dissertation from Deidre McQuade, spokeswoman for the US Conference of Catholic Bishops.

March for Life Jan 22, 2009 : 2009 March for Life in Washington, D.C.  The crowd was significantly larger than last year and was estimated to be upwards of 300,000.  It was a beautiful day to celebrate life.

National Prayer Vigil for Life Jan 21, 2009 : Washington D.C., January 21, 2009 - Celebration of life through the beauty and majesty of the Eucharist with 8,000 pro-life advocates.  Justin Cardinal Rigali was the principal celebrant with hundreds of priests participating in the procession.  The Spirit was in the house!

40 Days for Life Vigil Nov 1, 2009 : Archdiocese of Hartford (CT) concluding prayer vigil to the 2009 40 Days for Life Campaign.  50+ individuals came to pray the Rosary and Divine Chaplet outside an abortion clinic adjacent to Hartford Hospital from 4 - 6 p.m.  The peaceful demonstration and prayer service was well received by cars passing by as many honked their horn and waved in support of the pro life effort.  A Hartford municipal police officer monitored the vigil from his cruiser parked in a Hartford Hospital parking space and seeing there was no intent other than fervent prayer, left before the vigil concluded.  Prayer is the answer!
